Meet the talented students behind the unique, cyclone-made products sold in our store. From apparel and accessories to art and home décor, each item reflects the passion, innovation, and hard work of Iowa State students. Explore their stories, discover their creations, and support the next generation of makers!
Piper Michalski is a Fashion Communications student and the Merchandising Manager at Innovate 1858. She is the founder of Piper Rose Sewing, an online sewing and embroidery clothing brand. Some of her items sold at Innovate 1858 include the “Tartan Bow Crewneck” and “Cyclones Button”.
Lauren Goman is a Creative & Technical Design student and the Product Development Manager at Innovate 1858. She designed the “Innovate 1858 Cherry Hoodie”.
Emily Worrall is a graduate student and the course instructor at Innovate 1858. Emily designed the “You Don’t Know Jack” Tee and Sticker.
Kai Huntoon is a Creative & Technical Design student and the Graphic Design Manager at Innovate 1858. Some of his items sold at Innovate 1858 include the “Doodle Mug” and “QB Cy Graphic Tee”.
Sophie Page is a Retail Merchandising Student and the Marketing Director at Innovate 1858. Sophie designed the “Vintage Iowa State Patch Crewneck” in 2024.
The ISU Horticulture Club is a student-led, horticulture club at Iowa State University. They created the Farm and Prairie Honey sold at Innovate 1858.
This Stamp denotes student makers who have worked or are currently working as student staff members at Innovate 1858.
Gaffer’s Guild is student led, glass blowing club at Iowa State University. Some of their products sold at Innovate 1858 include the “Cyclone Glass Paperweights” and the “Cyclone Infinity Sculpture”.
Brooke Wreay is an Industrial Design Student and Product Designer/Illustrator. She created Juko, a design and artwork company in 2019. She designed various stickers such as the “Clone Cone” sticker.

Our alumni makers are former Iowa State students who have turned their creative passions into thriving businesses. These entrepreneurs started as student makers in our store and have since launched their own brands, bringing innovative products to a wider audience. Shop their collections and support alumni-owned businesses that grew from our Cyclone community!
Caroline is the founder of Caroline Freese Designs. Some of her products are Jewelry dishes and the Swan Mug.
Laura and Samantha founded Boathouse Apparel, with boutiques located in Okoboji, IA and Washington D.C. Some of their products sold at Innovate 1858 include the “Game Day Crewneck” and the “Favorite Season Crewneck”.
Skylar is the founder of Sky Ivy Design a print design company. Some of Skylar’s products sold at Innovate 1858 include the “Text Me Squirrel Crewneck”, and the “Football Swan Sticker”.
Hannah is the founder of Hannah’s Bees, located in Amana, IA. Some of Hannah’s products sold at Innovate 1858 are the car diffusers and the multi-scented lotions.
Bridget is the founder of B.E. Good, an inspiring and trendy clothing boutique. Some of her products sold at Innovate 1858 include the “Be Happy Baseball Hat”, and the “Be Happy It’s Gameday T-shirt”.
Sydney is the founder of Friest Designs. Some of her products include the “Woo Hoo! Card”, and the “Drink More Water Sticker”.

We’ve had the privilege of showcasing incredible products from talented student makers at Innovate 1858. While these makers have moved on to new ventures, their creativity and craftsmanship have left a lasting impact. We celebrate their journey and thank them for being a part of our story.
Julio is the founder of “Buoy Club”, a hand designed apparel company. Julio designed the “Buoy Club” yellow t-shirt.
Caleigh is the founder of Created by Caleigh a new and upcoming brand that sells hand drawn designs. Some of her items sold at Innovate 1858 include “You’re Egg-Celent” stationary card, and the resin keychains.
Megan Lenzi was part of the Innovate 1858 student staff design competition in 2022. Megan designed the “Support Your Local Innovators” t-shirt.
Camryn Mosty has served as our Buying Manager, Multichannel Director, and Marketing Director. Camryn designed the “Innovate 1858 Navy Crewneck”.
